S12: Lavelanet to Narbonne: 2004 Masia M Roussillon Vin de Pays des Côtes Catalanes

A few days ago we wrote:

And OMG Ricardo Ricco! We agree with Phil and Paul that 2009 is going to be the first great Ricco vintage.

but we take that back. Instead, here’s to Marc Cavendish on his third stage.
And the Masia ais a better wine than we deserve at this point–peppery but not at all heavy, briefly full in the mouth but with a very quiet finish.
Or so we thought at the end of the day, exhausted, palates shot on southwestern takeout and too much work, able only to Tivo from the start to the finish, briefly wax righteous, watch the sprint, and to bed. We may make a lot of vinegar out of the tour if this keeps up.
